Middletown Animal Hospital Rescues Dog from Euthanasia

When Middletown Animal Hospital examined a dog today for Animal Control we decided to step in and take over providing care to a dog in need to avoid unnecessary euthanasia.  The dog had been confiscated after the owners did not provide veterinary care and allowed her to suffer following a dog attack that left her without an ear.   She will be treated, spayed, vaccinated, and then kept with Orphandog for adoption.

2 weeks later:  After 2 surgeries to repair the accesses that had formed under her mutilated ear, she is doing well and will go to Orphandog to be adopted to a new home with someone who can care for her.  She is super sweet and deserves a 2nd chance. Middletown Animal Hospital also surgically repaired a condition called a "hooded vulva" where the area is inflamed and gets frequent infections.  All treatment was done pro-bono.

She was a trooper throughout all of the surgeries and bandage changes.  Because she was being treated by the staff of Middletown Animal Hospital for so long, a staff member became very attached to her and elected to adopt her.  Now she is still part of our family!
